EYMS Takes Quantum Leap

The highly anticipated system was released in 2013, winning a European Coach and Bus Week Innovation Label Award at that year’s Busworld exhibition in Kortrijk. A recent installation on East Yorkshire Motor Services (EYMS) buses will mark the product’s first real life operation in the UK.

Bus and Coach Buyer was invited to the operator’s Anlaby Road depot in Hull to see it in action. Overall, feedback was extremely positive and commuters seemed enthusiastic about the new addition.

Many Florida agencies were in attendance, including those from Miami, Orlando and West Palm Beach. Along with their corresponding operations teams, they joined the hands-on demonstration to see QUANTUM’s innovative technology in action aboard a 40-foot Gillig bus, generously loaned by Jim Egbert, Transit Operations Chief of Manatee County Area Transit (MCAT).

Throughout the event the QUANTUM was presented to the state on all levels (FDOT, CUTR & Agency) for the consideration of adding QUANTUM to the upcoming Florida State Bus Contract.
