WORKING WITH TULSA TRANSIT<\/span><\/h2>[vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

This past June\u00a0we had the privilege of partnering with one of our favorite customers, Tulsa Transit<\/strong>, on a joint project to highlight the benefits of QUANTUM and detail exactly how top transit agencies around the world are rolling out the QUANTUM Securement System\u00a0to local mobility riders.<\/p>\n

The project began with a plan to develop a QUANTUM field test e-book<\/strong> in conjunction with BUSRide Magazine<\/a>. We knew immediately that Tulsa Transit would be a great fit for the study. As an innovative, forward-thinking agency, Tulsa Transit is focused on staying\u00a0ahead of the curve.<\/p>\n

Upon arriving at Tulsa’s facility on a hot day in June, we were greeted by an assortment of bold, colorful buses — something that Tulsa has become known for in the industry. The team at Tulsa Transit\u00a0was ready and fully prepared\u00a0to help us in any way possible.\u00a0They enthusiastically shared\u00a0stories of previous installations, commuter feedback and the impact they expected the QUANTUM Securement System\u00a0to have on their bottom line.<\/p>\n

Before the tests could begin, a complication arose. Tulsa requested\u00a0a reconfiguration of the QUANTUM installation from curbside<\/strong> to streetside<\/strong> within the buses. Working closely with Tulsa’s team, onsite Q’STRAINT technicians were able to quickly make all of the necessary\u00a0wiring modifications and customizations required for the switch.<\/p>\n

Once the field test was underway, it was easy for Tulsa’s leadership team to see the benefits of QUANTUM<\/a>, including increased mobility ridership, reduced dwell times, happier bus drivers, and ultimately, the long-term cost savings. “We began with something we felt would be more applicable\u00a0to our BRT system. Now we are realizing how QUANTUM\u00a0is going to solve issues for all of our transit customers\u00a0on all of our routes,\u201d Ruggles said.<\/p>\n

The agency was also very pleased with the comprehensive onboarding and training provided by regional sales manager,\u00a0Mitch Droulliard<\/strong>,\u00a0and the Q’STRAINT team. Four separate training sessions were held with Tulsa’s staff, managers, drivers and local community members to become more familiar with all aspects of the system before it was formally rolled out.<\/p>\n

GET INSPIRED BY EMEKA NNAKA<\/span><\/h2>[vc_column_text]Venturing to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2007 to continue his football career at Oral Roberts University, Emeka Nnaka had a bright future in sports ahead of him. Unfortunately, everything changed during a game in 2008 when a hard tackle left him permanently paralyzed from the chest down. With his world turned completely upside down, Emeka wasn’t sure how he’d adjust to his new life.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image alignment=”center” image=”25795″][vc_column_text]When you meet Emeka, it’s difficult\u00a0to believe he ever struggled to get back into the swing of things. His infectious positivity\u00a0and contagious smile can brighten even the darkest of days. In order to regain a sense of normalcy and immerse himself back into the community, Emeka\u00a0became involved with United Way<\/strong> and\u00a0The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges<\/a>. Spending\u00a0much of his days at The Center, his self-proclaimed home away from home, Emeka knew his education and sports background would make him a valuable asset to this new team.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1495807474728{padding-top: 50px !important;padding-bottom: 50px !important;padding-left: 50px !important;}”]<\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]We had the pleasure of working with Emeka on our QUANTUM field test in Tulsa. He rode the bus, using QUANTUM to secure himself\u00a0— and his feedback was both\u00a0insightful and\u00a0invaluable. Naturally, when his comments were overwhelmingly positive,\u00a0we knew we were onto something.<\/p>\n

He told us that the system made him feel safer than traditional tie-down restraints and was an easier process overall. He especially enjoyed the level of independence the system provided, as well as the streetside customization that Tulsa Transit and Q’STRAINT\u00a0worked on together. “I felt like I gained back a piece of my\u00a0independence,” Emeka stated.<\/p>\n

But just spending the a few days\u00a0with Emeka was the greatest gift of all. Touring The Center\u00a0facility with him\u00a0was truly like walking around with a celebrity — it’s easy to see how loved and appreciated he is by staff and members alike.<\/p>\n

Emeka now works to motivate others, especially those who have suffered similar injuries or deal with mental and physical challenges. He posts motivational videos and gives motivational speeches<\/a> across the country.\u00a0Emeka is currently attending graduate school at the University of Oklahoma.[\/vc_column_text]
