Each system was graded on the following criteria:

Strength: specifications to meet or exceed a minimum breaking strength of 2,300 pounds

Security: system must provide adequate restraint of both the wheelchair and the occupant

Adaptability: system must be designed to provide adaptability to a wide range of mobility aids

Flexibility: system must provide various options to allow choice of configuration that best serves the needs of the passenger

Stability: system must provide a high degree of stability in all directions of movement

Operation: system must be quick and easy to operate

Customer support: must be timely and responsive to the needs of the user, local support

Key: 5 - excellent, 4 - good, 3 - fair, 2 - poor, 1 - acceptable
