Special Report SR 89/160 Report on Q'Straint Wheelchair Occupant Restraint System Tests conducted to the dynamic requirements of AS 2942 Section 4. Conducted by Roads and Traffic Authority Road Safety Bureau Australia (condensed and reproduced with permission)

Testing with the Q'Straint wheelchair and occupant restraint system was conducted on the 21/10/89 and 24/10/89 and was in accordance with the dynamic requirements of Australian Standard 2942 Wheelchair Occupant Restraint Assemblies for Motor Vehicles, Section 4. With a surrogate chair the laboratory test specimen numbers allocated to the restraints are contained herein.

Restraint Configuration
The Q'Straint wheelchair and occupant restraint was tested as per manufacturer's instructions. The restraint configuration consisted of two front belts and two rear belts. The occupant restraint was tested in both the lab/slash and lap only configuration. The restraints were attached to standard Q'Straint mounting plates, spaced at the minimum distances specified in the manufacturer instructions.

Conclusion
The Q'Straint wheelchair and occupant restraint system tested passed the dynamic requirements specified in Section 4 of AS 2942 in the specified configurations.
